Laughter is the best medicine!

CFK (comics for kids) History

“Comics for Kids” was founded in 2003

It all began with a simple conversation between two people who wanted to make a difference by creating a onetime fundraiser. The idea was to assemble a stand-up comedy show featuring local amateurs. Tickets would be sold and the proceeds would benefit University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. That first show ran for three hours and featured local amateur and professional comics from the greater Cleveland area. The proceeds were small, but the event turned out to be a fun filled evening for all who attended and participated. It was the beginning of an annual event that would soon grow beyond our expectations.

The subsequent years proved to be very fruitful. The event now showcases both national and local talent and our proceeds and donation to the children’s hospital has grown into tens of thousands. We adopted the phrase “Laughter is The Best Medicine” as we believe that there is no better way to feel good about doing something great!
